The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
