Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's achievements, the talented cast also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team won seven awards during the ceremony.
Additional standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—decided by critics.
